A Moment of Bliss - Walk it Back
Hey Fans,
It turns out there's quite a few people that were rather upset about one of the revelations in A Moment of Bliss. I decided to walk back one of the reveals, and make a minor adjustment to it. This won't impact the story moving forward, but it does seem like this tweak is vitally important to a lot of people.
I'm not going to pretend I understand why this is such a big deal, but I want the fans to be able to enjoy my work and this is a small adjustment that is easy enough to make. It should right the ship for everyone that didn't like the revelation, and not disrupt the fans who didn't mind it. Nor will it significantly impact the rest of the story.
So, here is the updated version on Chapter 2 Part 2. I don't want to spoil anything for anyone who hasn't played it yet. So if you've already played Chapter 2 Part 2 and want to know what I changed instead of playing through it again, message me here or on Discord.
Thanks for all the support, and I'm sorry if the last release was upsetting for anyone.

Bought this back in June, and the purchase/download page just takes me to Chapter 3, I can't download the "walk back" patch!
Patch? There's no patch. With the most recent release, the thing I walked back in Chapter 2 is reintroduced. There are two options for dialog now. The Transhumanist Dialog, which is canon, and the Naturalist dialog. You can choose which you prefer in the Options menu.
AVNs confuse me!
When's the next Chapter/Episode? That's all I care about when a story isn't finished yet!

I'd hate to spoil anything for people who read this. You can message me on Discord for the answer. I've also added the option to play either the original version or the altered version in the next release.
The fact that you bowed that easily to something you don't see as an issue tells me all i need to know.
I always consider my fans when I create a project. Transhumanist ideas can be especially triggering for a large group of people, and my intentions with this revelation were not to enrage or cause conflict. The change is virtually negligible to the story, and has pacified a considerable amount of the backlash.
I have been invested in this game and A Petal Among Thorns for a while. One of the things i liked is how different the protagonist of this game is from other games of the same genre. Making it clear that, of course it's WEIRD, and moving on from that as a basis is what sold the game for me. Now, i am really sad that i won't be able to know what the change was, as if i'm being honest, i can't imagine what in a game of this genre could have made people so upset that you needed to change it. However, i will continue to enjoy the game and series! Thank you Very much for everything, and i hope you can continue to tell your story the way you want.
I wonder what, on an adult game, would make someone so uncomfortable to merit a change to the game. On a superficial level, some people are into things others aren't, so you have to get over things you don't like. On a deeper level, someone people have had experiences others haven't, which affect whether and how they relate to a character's experiences, influencing you to have strong reactions to things you don't understand or think you understand but are wrong about. If its not major enough to alter the overall story, I can't imagine it being necessary to change at all. You've already had to make changes that the players didn't necessarily want so that you could market your product and make your bottom line. That's business, and no disrespect to you for making sure you can continue to make your games. But to feel as though you had to change your game for the fans is significant, not necessarily in a good way. But that's just, like, my opinion man. At the end of the day, I think your games are fantastic and you're doing a great job.

I didn't find anything troubling about the last release, but you never know what's going to bother people. As long as the change doesn't materially affect the story, I don't feel the need to know the details. I really enjoy all your work Lockheart, keep up the good work.
The last release was mind-blowing--excellent--you are a master storyteller.
