Which in my opinion is a travesty when compared to other content I've seen on there. So I just wanted to encourage you to keep making novels the way you want to make them. Tomorrow I will be purchasing the full version on Petal as well as Avalon and Bliss on itch. Keep up the good work.

Hey, will there be pregnancy option in the near future? Playing a petal among thorns and now AMOB kinda hint that this could happen in future episodes? If not could you please add the option that may happen. I'm guessing Harem option is no issue since Bliss and Petal seems to be on the same page with how they are ok with them engaging the MC. Also I hadn't heard about you recovering from COVID, glad you are doing good, stay safe and keep doing a great job with these Adult Visual Novels.
Pregnancy is something I'm considering but I don't plan too far ahead when I work on these stories. Once a girl is pregnant, it will dramatically affect the story moving forward. It's not something the player worries about much, but from an artistic standpoint it's a very big deal. All the creative responsibility to propel the story forward falls on me. For the end of a story, it's not a big deal. But this is going to be a trilogy, so if one of the girls gets pregnant now, that's going to massively impact Over the Moon (the sequel to AMoB). So all I can say for now is... we'll see. I'm going to try, but I don't want to sacrifice one of the girls on the alter of a fetish and not be able to explore her more. A child is a massive responsibility, and that's not something I'd glaze over in the story.

Cunnilingus is something I want to add. The tongues on the models are difficult to control. There are some other difficulties too. I definitely want to bring more pleasure to the women though. Also, you're right. Pregnancy is difficult to put into the middle of a story. It changes the plot immensely.

About the pregnancy. I much appreciate your comment "a child is a massive responsibility". Don't get me wrong, I do realise this is a game, but so far I've not seen in any game I've played here on itch any explanation why pregnancy between blood relations is considered a 'bad' thing genetic wise. Waiting for the first game where lovers go to the doctor and take a genetic test together to see if the kid they want is going to be 'ok' or not. Perhaps that is too realistic, but I'm worried that young ones will get the wrong impression that there is nothing to worry about.

Great story, though I don't particularly like how sort of dominating and manipulative Bliss feels and how it going to play out with her pushing other girls to be sexual. I also do hope the MC becomes the more dominating type as he should instead of Bliss or any other girl. Having Bliss take down Topher instead of the MC is incredibly humiliating. Overall in my opinion lay off the dominating manipulative side of Bliss and let the MC man up and be dom.
I feel like you're missing a few important things, damnmalic. Bliss is a Dom, and she's teaching the MC to be more dominant. It's not manipulation, it's encouragement. If you played A Petal Among Thorns, you'll notice that the MC is a lot more outgoing and forward about what he wants now. Character growth is important to a story.
MC is not a brawler or a fighter. He's a family man. Punching a kid in the face would be out of character for him. The entire point of the Topher scene was to showcase Bliss's weakness: her over-protective nature.
The reason Bliss is encouraging MC to fool around with other women will be revealed more in the upcoming release. And then from there, she'll explain more in the release after next. I'll give you a hint though. Men are cursed. We will always want more sex than we'll ever get. Bliss is heavily invested in learning human behavior, so she understands this. She wants the MC to be satisfied, so she's seducing other women for him. This is a level of love you will never see in reality.
I get that this kind of story might not be your preferred flavor. That's fine, and there's plenty of AVNs out there that showcase men you might be more interested in following in their journey. I might write a story about a more dominant MC one day, like Cassian from Penny for Your Thoughts. Chester will also be more dominant later, but he'll never be a fighter. It's simply not his character.
As disappointing as it is since I really enjoyed A Petal Among Thorns having a MC that’s less dominant and I guess less “traditionally masculine” isn’t my kind of thing and neither is girl on girl so I guess I’ll be sitting this story out. I also completely understand the whole character growth but I wish it happened more on its own rather than being pushed/encouraged by Bliss and in my opinion even if it isn’t in someone’s nature as a “landlord” it’s your job to protect and stand up to people like Topher. I don't know how you think things happen "on their own". We change and grow because of the influences in our lives, whether they come from circumstances or other individuals. We get into a comfortable routine and do not change. A rudimentary understanding of psychology shows us this. Growing through outside influences by interacting with others who exhibit the kind of personality traits that we value does not conflict with organic change, rather its necessary for it. We all like what we like, but I think your aversion is due to misguided notions about the relationship we have with our own psychological progression. No hate, all love. As for the second question, MC wants to give Bliss the opportunity to tell him herself. There's also a lot that's going to be explained in this upcoming release. Some things will make more sense once you've played through the rest of Chapter 2. I'm aiming to have it out mid-August.

I'm confused, I have gotten to the Danger Ranger cosplay section and Suzi just told me that I had rejected Nixie and that she would only be a business partner going forward? I haven't made any decisions of this kind and I don't remember dialogue (or internal monologue) from the MC deciding this either. I don't mind that this is the case (although I would have liked Nixie to be a romantic interest) but it just felt so sudden.
Otherwise I must say I am enjoying this game so far, just as I have enjoyed your other works.
There's supposed to be a choice between Bliss and Nixie. If you click on Bliss, you'll no longer pursue Nixie. I'm actually removing this choice in the next update as the Nixie path is imperative to the story. You also may have gotten a buggy download. I've had another player say they got stuck on the No Nixie path even after choosing Nixie.

Glad this one is what you're currently working on. This will be the fourth of your creations I'm exploring. I love the mature and well thought out dialogue and storyline. After playing quite a few VN's now .. it's incredibly refreshing to get back to one where the MC isn't clueless. I don't understand why so many creators feel it would be fun to have a complete idiot as their avatar.
If that doesn't work, you'll need to head over to your purchases. Click on the down arrow in the top right hand corner of the screen, go down to 'My Library', on the left there will be a tab that says 'My Purchases'. A Moment of Bliss should be in there.
I went through some emailing shenanigans, I clicked on "PC | MEGA | A Moment of Bliss Chapter 2 - Part One" for Windows, and it's downloading right now but MEGA is saying the file is: " AMomentofBliss-2.01.PC.zip." Same as before. If this is Chapter One not Chapter 2, I have no idea what's going on!
2 is the Chapter, 0 is any major updates or improvements, and 1 is a minor update. 2.0.0 was the Beta, so 2.0.1 is the official release for Chapter Two. The next release will finish Chapter Two, so it will be 2.1.1 when it releases. It's an inhouse number for internal use.

That's what it's here for. When life is underwhelming, retreat into fantasy for a little while to get some dopamine hits. Especially with the social climate being so unpredictable right now, visual novels are a safe alternative to a relationship for now. Or If you already bought Chapter 1 and upcoming chapter is available to download in the future for people who already purchased the game.

I know you had issues with steam for A Petal among Thorns, but will A moment of Bliss be heading to steam at any point? would like to play it but I tend to only buy games on steam.
I'm going to try, but unfortunately I can't say for sure if Steam will allow it or not. I might have to heavily modify it before I submit it just to be safe. That would mean, however, that I'd have to remove a lot of the elements that make AMoB what it's supposed to be. I know you might have a firm stance on buying games on Steam, but for Adult Content I might recommend finding an alternative site.
If I do get AMoB on Steam, I'll provide keys here for those that purchased it on itch.io. I wish I had a better answer for you. This decision just isn't up to me.

I'm implementing more agency as the story progresses as part of the MC's character growth. You'll be able to reject Nixie and Suzi as love interests. You won't be able to turn away Petal, Bliss, and Rose though. It wouldn't work for the plot if you did. There will also be some other options opening up as the story progresses.
Agency is tricky. It adds a considerable amount of work. The more deviation availability, the more work. If I had a team, this would be much more feasible. So I'm trying to work within the constraints of my current business setup. It's tricky, but I'm confident I can add enough agency to make the game even more enjoyable.
That makes sense! i can see why the main trio needs to be locked in, glad that side girls will be optional, you have great storytelling & character building so far, which really make your VN's enjoyable!
Thats alright, I apologize if I sounded like I was demanding it to be on steam. I didn't mean it like that, it was just a question as I prefer to have a consolidated library, and steam is the easiest place for that since I already have multiple accounts. You as the creator should do what you feel is right, the AVNs you make are amazing and if steam tries to push you into heavily modifying them because of their weird policies and you don't feel right about it then don't do it. Maybe at some point i'll start buying from itch, but as of this moment I use this just to check out free games that are still in development.

I understood what you meant. I feel the same way. Most of my games are on Steam as well, and I'd be hesitant to shop elsewhere for the same reason. My view of Steam has greatly changed after the fiasco with A Petal Among Thorns. I get a little 'steamed' when I talk about them now. I feel like they really did me wrong.
I sincerely do wish I had a better answer. I'd be happy to jump through hoops for Steam to get my work on there, but they flat out rejected APAT without the option for me to make edits and resubmit. They didn't just do me wrong, they did us all wrong. That's what bothers me the most. There's a lot of people that will never get to play APAT now that would love it. And that's a darn shame.
I appreciate that you've enjoyed my work. I'm working with an analyst now who is going to help me start building stories that fit better with Steam's requirements. We should be able to put out some quality, fun works after the Rose Garden trilogy that we'll actually be able to get on Steam. The future should be brighter.

I don't have any plans to release a version of the game with no sexual content. I am interested in writing visual novels without sexual content, but if I do that sometime in the future then I'll have a lot more freedom of what I can create. For example, Penny's game was difficult to add sexual content to but I loved making it. Her story would be great to tell without sexual content. The Rose Garden trilogy, however, was made specifically with sexual content in mind.
If the lewd gaming market crashes as the world pushes harder for censorship, I maybe move into non-sexual themed games. I don't currently have any plans to do that just yet.

Given the (both physical and emotional) distance between MC and Moon and the fact it was her doing, perhaps you can go with a more dramatic approach... Like her coming out of a bad relationship just as MC left, and her feeling abandoned and unloved because of that... The relationship would be harder to mend, obviously, but that could make it more interesting...
Anyway, that's just my incoherent rambling, so ignore if you want to... (Or use some of it if you like, I won't ask for a commission if you do! 😜)
Finished playing the first chapter and I must say, I was NOT disappointed. The time and effort dedicated to this definitely shows through the quality of the storyline, art, characters, and dialogue.
I will say that seeing the main character's face is something that is different that I really enjoyed from APAT. It takes away from being able to place yourself as the character unless you have a similar physical resemblance. That being said, It is still an incredible game that is absolutely worth the purchase.
People have been very passionate about the change from first person to third person. It was a creative decision that makes the project more enjoyable for me as the artist to work on. Chester is a character, he's a person with feelings and goals, and he has a great big story to tell. By doing things in first person, you lose out on really getting to know Chester.
I know it will take some getting used to, but I hope the style grows on you. I'm glad to hear you still enjoyed your experience. Lots more to come!
For a second POV on this(heh) while it was a bit of a surprise to see the MCs face I did get used to it. The thing I missed though was the extra intimacy you get in first person as e.g. it makes it feel like they the girls are looking at you. You do switch to first person in some of the intimate scenes which is great I just missed it a bit in the conversation scenes.
That being said if you do enjoy making those shots more then go for it as enjoying the work more can easily make the project greater as a whole.
TL;DR: Maybe consider changing the over the shoulder of MC shots with first person shots instead. Also great chapter.
With production, scenes and writing as good as this, you could remove all the sexual content, make it a story about a guy reconnecting with his family and I still would happily pay the asking price
It is clear without a shadow of a doubt that you care for your work and the characters beyond the financial gains.
As with APAT, Bliss is already pure quality and I've no doubt that future installments will be the same.

The relative financial success of my work has allowed me to start venturing into spending some extra money on hired hands. The phone mechanic was created by a coder I hired, and he did an exceptional job. I just hired a voice actress to do the intro for AMoB. I'm going to outsource more and more as I grow so I can bring bigger, better, and faster updates.

Yes and she "seems" ok. I am not really sure why I am not thrilled by her. She just seems like a distraction in the story to me. I would much rather focus on the other characters than deal with her. I have tried to avoid her as much as possible. That complaint aside, I still loved the first chapter though! I look forward to the rest of the story, I assure you.
Well, there's going to be two halves to the novel; the story, and the romance. Bliss is going to lead the charge on the lewd side of the game, while Suzi is going to be more surrounded by the story. I'm surprised to hear you're not interested in Suzi. I'll continue to try to design it so you don't have to interact with her much.
Even despite the fact that I made the majority of her interactions skippable, I still had someone give me a low score just because she exists at all. People are hard to please sometimes. I'm sure glad you're enjoying her though. She was a damn pleasure to work with.

The comments say sequel but the marketing doesn't - Is it an actual sequel or works as a stand-alone also? Just haven't played Petal yet and wanted to know before I started this one..
All the information from A Petal Among Thorns is in AMoB spread out over the first chapter in little bits and pieces. So you don't absolutely have to play A Petal Among Thorns to enjoy and understand A Moment of Bliss. Though I certainly recommend playing APAT, it's a lot of fun.
A Moment of Bliss is a sequel to A Petal Among Thorns, however you can follow Bliss without playing Petal. I just finished the 1st chapter of Bliss and if you enjoyed it you will also enjoy Petal.

I'll give you a hint though. Men are cursed. We will always want more sex than we'll ever get. Bliss is heavily invested in learning human behavior, so she understands this. She wants the MC to be satisfied, so she's seducing other women for him. This is a level of love you will never see in reality.
I get that this kind of story might not be your preferred flavor. That's fine, and there's plenty of AVNs out there that showcase men you might be more interested in following in their journey. I might write a story about a more dominant MC one day, like Cassian from Penny for Your Thoughts. Chester will also be more dominant later, but he'll never be a fighter. It's simply not his character.

As disappointing as it is since I really enjoyed A Petal Among Thorns having a MC that’s less dominant and I guess less “traditionally masculine” isn’t my kind of thing and neither is girl on girl so I guess I’ll be sitting this story out. I also completely understand the whole character growth but I wish it happened more on its own rather than being pushed/encouraged by Bliss and in my opinion even if it isn’t in someone’s nature as a “landlord” it’s your job to protect and stand up to people like Topher. I didn't mean any harm with my comments and I thank you for the reply.
I don't know how you think things happen "on their own". We change and grow because of the influences in our lives, whether they come from circumstances or other individuals. We get into a comfortable routine and do not change. A rudimentary understanding of psychology shows us this. It is only when we become uncomfortable, or someone enters our lives and changes our routine, that we are forced to renegotiate our habits. Growing through outside influences by interacting with others who exhibit the kind of personality traits that we value does not conflict with organic change, rather its necessary for it. We all like what we like, but I think your aversion is due to misguided notions about the relationship we have with our own psychological progression. No hate, all love. I hope you find what you're looking for.

As for the second question, MC wants to give Bliss the opportunity to tell him herself. There's also a lot that's going to be explained in this upcoming release. Some things will make more sense once you've played through the rest of Chapter 2. I'm aiming to have it out mid-August.

I'm confused, I have gotten to the Danger Ranger cosplay section and Suzi just told me that I had rejected Nixie and that she would only be a business partner going forward? I haven't made any decisions of this kind and I don't remember dialogue (or internal monologue) from the MC deciding this either. I don't mind that this is the case (although I would have liked Nixie to be a romantic interest) but it just felt so sudden.
Otherwise I must say I am enjoying this game so far, just as I have enjoyed your other works.

There's supposed to be a choice between Bliss and Nixie. If you click on Bliss, you'll no longer pursue Nixie. I'm actually removing this choice in the next update as the Nixie path is imperative to the story. You also may have gotten a buggy download. I've had another player say they got stuck on the No Nixie path even after choosing Nixie.

Glad this one is what you're currently working on. This will be the fourth of your creations I'm exploring. I love the mature and well thought out dialogue and storyline. After playing quite a few VN's now .. it's incredibly refreshing to get back to one where the MC isn't clueless. I went through some emailing shenanigans, I clicked on "PC | MEGA | A Moment of Bliss Chapter 2 - Part One" for Windows, and it's downloading right now but MEGA is saying the file is: " AMomentofBliss-2.01.PC.zip." Same as before. If this is Chapter One not Chapter 2, I have no idea what's going on!

2 is the Chapter, 0 is any major updates or improvements, and 1 is a minor update. 2.0.0 was the Beta, so 2.0.1 is the official release for Chapter Two. The next release will finish Chapter Two, so it will be 2.1.1 when it releases. It's an inhouse number for internal use.

And I just got A Moment of Bliss today. Since it's only Chapter one of this game, is future chapter available for purchase again? Or If you already bought Chapter 1 and upcoming chapter is available to download in the future for people who already purchased the game.

I know you had issues with steam for A Petal among Thorns, but will A moment of Bliss be heading to steam at any point? would like to play it but I tend to only buy games on steam.
I'm going to try, but unfortunately I can't say for sure if Steam will allow it or not. I might have to heavily modify it before I submit it just to be safe. That would mean, however, that I'd have to remove a lot of the elements that make AMoB what it's supposed to be. I know you might have a firm stance on buying games on Steam, but for Adult Content I might recommend finding an alternative site.
If I do get AMoB on Steam, I'll provide keys here for those that purchased it on itch.io. I wish I had a better answer for you. This decision just isn't up to me.

I'm implementing more agency as the story progresses as part of the MC's character growth. You'll be able to reject Nixie and Suzi as love interests. You won't be able to turn away Petal, Bliss, and Rose though. It wouldn't work for the plot if you did. There will also be some other options opening up as the story progresses.
Agency is tricky. It adds a considerable amount of work. The more deviation availability, the more work. If I had a team, this would be much more feasible. So I'm trying to work within the constraints of my current business setup. It's tricky, but I'm confident I can add enough agency to make the game even more enjoyable.

Thats alright, I apologize if I sounded like I was demanding it to be on steam. I didn't mean it like that, it was just a question as I prefer to have a consolidated library, and steam is the easiest place for that since I already have multiple accounts. You as the creator should do what you feel is right, the AVNs you make are amazing and if steam tries to push you into heavily modifying them because of their weird policies and you don't feel right about it then don't do it. Maybe at some point i'll start buying from itch, but as of this moment I use this just to check out free games that are still in development.

I understood what you meant. I feel the same way. Most of my games are on Steam as well, and I'd be hesitant to shop elsewhere for the same reason. My view of Steam has greatly changed after the fiasco with A Petal Among Thorns. I get a little 'steamed' when I talk about them now. I feel like they really did me wrong.
I sincerely do wish I had a better answer. I'd be happy to jump through hoops for Steam to get my work on there, but they flat out rejected APAT without the option for me to make edits and resubmit. They didn't just do me wrong, they did us all wrong. That's what bothers me the most. There's a lot of people that will never get to play APAT now that would love it. And that's a darn shame.
I appreciate that you've enjoyed my work. I'm working with an analyst now who is going to help me start building stories that fit better with Steam's requirements. We should be able to put out some quality, fun works after the Rose Garden trilogy that we'll actually be able to get on Steam. The future should be brighter.

I'm working hard to have the next release out in June. I do a progress report for supporters on Patreon, and I'm always happy to keep people updated if you ask me on Discord. There's one really big scene I'm working on now. Once that's finished, it should be quick progress after that. About a month until release probably.

I don't have any plans to release a version of the game with no sexual content. I am interested in writing visual novels without sexual content, but if I do that sometime in the future then I'll have a lot more freedom of what I can create. For example, Penny's game was difficult to add sexual content to but I loved making it. Her story would be great to tell without sexual content. The Rose Garden trilogy, however, was made specifically with sexual content in mind.
If the lewd gaming market crashes as the world pushes harder for censorship, I maybe move into non-sexual themed games. I don't currently have any plans to do that just yet.

Moon's story is something I'm still deciding on. I'm not sure how I want to do it yet. Whatever I decide, I'll make sure it's still awesome.

Given the (both physical and emotional) distance between MC and Moon and the fact it was her doing, perhaps you can go with a more dramatic approach... Like her coming out of a bad relationship just as MC left, and her feeling abandoned and unloved because of that... The relationship would be harder to mend, obviously, but that could make it more interesting...
Anyway, that's just my incoherent rambling, so ignore if you want to... (Or use some of it if you like, I won't ask for a commission if you do! 😜)

Finished playing the first chapter and I must say, I was NOT disappointed. The time and effort dedicated to this definitely shows through the quality of the storyline, art, characters, and dialogue.
I will say that seeing the main character's face is something that is different that I really enjoyed from APAT. It takes away from being able to place yourself as the character unless you have a similar physical resemblance. That being said, It is still an incredible game that is absolutely worth the purchase.
People have been very passionate about the change from first person to third person. It was a creative decision that makes the project more enjoyable for me as the artist to work on. Chester is a character, he's a person with feelings and goals, and he has a great big story to tell. By doing things in first person, you lose out on really getting to know Chester.
I know it will take some getting used to, but I hope the style grows on you. I'm glad to hear you still enjoyed your experience. Lots more to come!
For a second POV on this(heh) while it was a bit of a surprise to see the MCs face I did get used to it. The thing I missed though was the extra intimacy you get in first person as e.g. it makes it feel like they the girls are looking at you. You do switch to first person in some of the intimate scenes which is great I just missed it a bit in the conversation scenes.
That being said if you do enjoy making those shots more then go for it as enjoying the work more can easily make the project greater as a whole.
TL;DR: Maybe consider changing the over the shoulder of MC shots with first person shots instead. Also great chapter.
With production, scenes and writing as good as this, you could remove all the sexual content, make it a story about a guy reconnecting with his family and I still would happily pay the asking price
It is clear without a shadow of a doubt that you care for your work and the characters beyond the financial gains.
As with APAT, Bliss is already pure quality and I've no doubt that future installments will be the same.
I appreciate the praise. I worked exceptionally hard on Bliss's first Chapter, and I'm going to work hard on the subsequent ones too. The plot is going to blossom into something very interesting. I'm excited to show everyone.
The relative financial success of my work has allowed me to start venturing into spending some extra money on hired hands. The phone mechanic was created by a coder I hired, and he did an exceptional job. I just hired a voice actress to do the intro for AMoB. I'm going to outsource more and more as I grow so I can bring bigger, better, and faster updates.

Yes and she "seems" ok. I am not really sure why I am not thrilled by her. She just seems like a distraction in the story to me. I would much rather focus on the other characters than deal with her. I have tried to avoid her as much as possible. That complaint aside, I still loved the first chapter though! I look forward to the rest of the story, I assure you.
Well, there's going to be two halves to the novel; the story, and the romance. Bliss is going to lead the charge on the lewd side of the game, while Suzi is going to be more surrounded by the story. I'm surprised to hear you're not interested in Suzi. I'll continue to try to design it so you don't have to interact with her much.
I love Suzi, and you can never please everyone. Having most of her interactions skippable is a great choice tho!
Even despite the fact that I made the majority of her interactions skippable, I still had someone give me a low score just because she exists at all. People are hard to please sometimes. I'm sure glad you're enjoying her though. She was a damn pleasure to work with.

The comments say sequel but the marketing doesn't - Is it an actual sequel or works as a stand-alone also? Just haven't played Petal yet and wanted to know before I started this one..
All the information from A Petal Among Thorns is in AMoB spread out over the first chapter in little bits and pieces. So you don't absolutely have to play A Petal Among Thorns to enjoy and understand A Moment of Bliss. Though I certainly recommend playing APAT, it's a lot of fun.

A Moment of Bliss is a sequel to A Petal Among Thorns, however you can follow Bliss without playing Petal. I just finished the 1st chapter of Bliss and if you enjoyed it you will also enjoy Petal.
